Last month, L'OREAL Group acquired the French Atelier Cologne brand, Estee Lauder group and Puig also acquired many small perfume manufacturers in the past year. Nicolas Hieronimus, President of L'OREAL group luxury selection department, said in an interview that the unique minority perfume brand is a brand new high growth area at present and has a very large market potential.

John Guy, an analyst at MainFirst bank, points out that nowadays luxury brands are so competitive that brands need something else to attract customers to stores. He expects perfume to add more than 450 million euros ($496 million) annually to Louis Weedon in the next few years.

Per Glossy perfume was developed at Louis Weedon's new headquarters in Glass, France. Before that, the company acquired Les Fountaines Parfumees, which has more than 350 kinds of plants and flowers in 2013. Louis Weedon CEO Michael Burke said the company will avoid the trap of popular and over marketed perfume. In order to maintain independence and individuality, perfume will only be sold in Louis Weedon stores.
